Onam is one of the greatest festivals of Kerala. It is the festival, which the keralites celebrates unitedly without the differecnce of caste and religion.

Onam is related with King Mahabali who was ruling kerala in a time. He was an Asura king but was very nice and trueful. .......blah blah!!...u knw tht story!!!!

Current version....
Onam is a celebration of Ten days. It comes in the month of "Chingam" according to Malayalam calender. People put flower mats in front of their houses, to welcome the King. There will be competition for the laying of flower mats; Keralites all over the world will be celebrating this ten days will pomp and gaiety....again blah blah!! u knw tht as well...

"Kanam Vittu Onam Unnanam" which means "We should have the Thiruonam lunch even if we have to sell all our properties". They give that much importance to the lunch on the Thiruonam day....

Well, that was the boring part of the story!...Now lets get to our version these days. 10 days Hols..Off the campus...Means of spenting time with your family...N in my case this time...its even different...Finally a Tour happening for us!...Uff Luking forward to that. The Onam celebrations at the colg this time was fun. Ms.Manka, Flower Carpet, Pulikali, Uriyadi...Hmm..we dint have vadamvali..Wonder y tht dint happen...N guess wat we had a wonderful Mahabali @ our campus..Cudn't believe it was Akbar..sheesh! with all that make up and stuff...He luked simply great..n i had sum great close up shots!!!...Chek out a few of these shots...
