The Spirit of Computing encompasses all that is digital. It enables our life in a way not deemed possible by contemporary thought.Sharing this spirit with all is a passionof sorts here at The Department Of Computer Science, TKM College of Engineering, Kollam.We make our beginning towards this substantial task with ITZ 2008 - National Level IT Fest, a retake of prev year’s successful event,which saw participation from a number of colleges in and around Kerala.The events have been planned with a feel for thinking out notions rather than performing tasks and all this in an informal atmosphere too !! We sincerely hope you can make it here, participate, win, innovate and above all feel the spirit of discovery in our midst.

Coastal town is the Thangal Kunju Musliar College of Engineering, with an enviable reputation of being one of the premier technical institutions in the country. The extraordinary vision of the late Janab A. Thangal Kunju Musliar was crystallized in the form and substance as T.K.M College of Engineering in 1956 with the foundation stone bring laid by the first President of independent India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Our college was the first to take initiative to offer Computer Science & Engg, as a course in Kerala and over the past 20 years, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been instrumental in churning out computer engineers of vigor and vitality. The Computer Science & Engg. Department hosts the national level IT Fest ITz 2006 to showcase the technical knowledge and skills of students.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE. This Onam!! Dated 31/08/06

Onam is one of the greatest festivals of Kerala. It is the festival, which the keralites celebrates unitedly without the differecnce of caste and religion.

Onam is related with King Mahabali who was ruling kerala in a time. He was an Asura king but was very nice and trueful. .......blah blah!!...u knw tht story!!!!

Current version....
Onam is a celebration of Ten days. It comes in the month of "Chingam" according to Malayalam calender. People put flower mats in front of their houses, to welcome the King. There will be competition for the laying of flower mats; Keralites all over the world will be celebrating this ten days will pomp and gaiety....again blah blah!! u knw tht as well...

"Kanam Vittu Onam Unnanam" which means "We should have the Thiruonam lunch even if we have to sell all our properties". They give that much importance to the lunch on the Thiruonam day....

Well, that was the boring part of the story!...Now lets get to our version these days. 10 days Hols..Off the campus...Means of spenting time with your family...N in my case this time...its even different...Finally a Tour happening for us!...Uff Luking forward to that. The Onam celebrations at the colg this time was fun. Ms.Manka, Flower Carpet, Pulikali, Uriyadi...Hmm..we dint have vadamvali..Wonder y tht dint happen...N guess wat we had a wonderful Mahabali @ our campus..Cudn't believe it was Akbar..sheesh! with all that make up and stuff...He luked simply great..n i had sum great close up shots!!!...Chek out a few of these shots...
